Kathy Rubright, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 28 years of extensive experience in behavioral health across a variety of treatment settings. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University in New York in 1997, followed by a Master’s degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in 1998. I obtained my initial Social Work licensure in the state of New York in 1998. After relocating to Pennsylvania, I later earned my Clinical Social Work licensure in January 2021.
Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and couples in diverse clinical environments. My areas of expertise include child loss, grief and loss, divorce, trauma, domestic violence, relationship and marital concerns, anxiety, depression, ADHD, geriatric and life transition issues, end-of-life support, communication challenges, spiritual concerns, and couples and marital counseling.
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe in meeting each person where they are and supporting them in building the tools they need for healing, growth, and meaningful change. I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients navigate life’s challenges and move toward lasting progress.
As Jim Rohn said, “Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.” Similarly, Socrates reminds us, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”
Let today be the day you begin building the new version of yourself. I look forward to working with you.
